Financial remedy: Form E - Financial Statement

Financial order proceedings are that part of the divorce or civil-partnership dissolution/separation/nullity process which resolves any financial issues between the parties to the marriage/civil partnership such as distributing capital, dealing with pension rights, and maintenance (including, in some cases, maintenance for any children). Financial relief proceedings may, similarly, be used for the same purpose, by parties who obtained the overseas equivalent of a divorce, judicial separation or nullity of a marriage or of a dissolution, separation or nullity of a civil partnership. Form E creates a financial statement which is to be used as part of the application for a Financial order or the application for Financial relief. This Form E enables each of the parties to the application to list his/her income, assets, liabilities and relevant financial circumstances in detail. If you or your spouse/civil partner formally apply to the court for a Financial order or for Financial relief, each of you must complete a separate Form E. This Form E may also be used in an informal disclosure process to assist with negotiations in an attempt to reach an agreement on the financial issues prior to starting the formal application for a Financial order or for Financial relief.
